Our story

In the shadow of the Second World War, amid hardship and uncertainty, a modest cleaning company was born in the heart of Dutch Limburg.

Times were difficult, but it was precisely in those circumstances that a vision grew that was greater than the challenges of the moment. This vision was simple but powerful: to provide a clean, safe environment for everyone. The company Hago, which would later be renamed Vebego, focused on people and quality. From the outset, people were central, not only as customers, but also as colleagues and fellow human beings. The early days of Vebego were marked by hard work and dedication. Vebego quickly became a household name in the streets of Limburg, loved for its reliability and attention to detail. Organisations such as the Staatsmijnen, which would later become the current DSM, found their way to Vebego. Cleaning was increasingly seen as a profession, an essential part of the primary process of any organisation. As a result, work began to flow in, and the small company grew steadily.

By the 1950s, Vebego had established itself throughout the Netherlands, but its ambitions reached further. It was in 1958 that Vebego took its first tentative steps across the border into Belgium with Alpheios. This step marked the beginning of a new chapter. The next major step was taken in 1989 with the acquisition of Care NV (Cees Aarts Reiniging). Care grew into a Vebego organisation that was not only a cleaning service, but also a partner in caring for its customers' environment. The years passed by and in 2007, Cleaning Professionals was launched. In 2010, Vebego welcomed Glanzer, and Cleaning Professionals continued to grow steadily through various acquisitions of cleaning companies. The youngest Vebego offshoot/organisation is Vebego Airport Services. The name says it all: a cleaning organisation active at Brussels Airport and, since 2020, the sole cleaning service provider responsible for ensuring a pleasant and enjoyable journey for more than 25 million travellers a year. All these Vebego companies have the same DNA, so why not continue under the same name?

In short, more than 55 years later, Vebego has established itself in Belgium as a solid organisation with more than 2,500 dedicated colleagues. Every day, they make a difference for around 4,000 customers, from small businesses to large multinationals. This success is not only due to hard work and smart business decisions, but also to the deep-rooted belief that people are at the heart of everything Vebego does.

Vebego distinguishes itself in the market through its genuine attention to the people with whom and for whom it works. It is an organisation that embraces progress and quality, but always with a human touch. Whether it is a large or small customer, every assignment receives the same care and attention. The goal is not only to clean, but to create a positive impact – on colleagues, on customers, on the organisation and ultimately on society.
